Hatched National Graduate Show 2019 finished a few weeks ago now and my two pieces are on their way home.
For those that aren’t familiar with Hatched:
“Since 1992, the Hatched National Graduate Show has presented the work of over one thousand artists alongside that of their national peers in this unique showcase of emergent talent. Many of Australia’s most successful artistic careers have been launched this way.” More details HERE.
This year’s selection panel consisted of; Sandy Hsiu-chih Lo, Chief Curator Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, Taipei; Melissa Keys, Curator Buxton Contemporary, Melbourne; and Eugenio Viola, Senior Curator, Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts.
Sixty submissions were reviewed by the panel with only eighteen artists selected to exhibit.
Hatched was a fantastic experience that I feel incredibly thankful to have been apart of. Including being able to travel to PICA in Perth, Western Australia, for the opening party, artist talks and professional development. Thank you to PICA and their team for a fantastic experience and time in Perth.
Thanks you to the ANU School of Art Gallery for their support, help and coordination with PICA & myself.
And thank you to Arts ACT for funding support to help me get to Perth.
The whole experience was invaluable.
I wanted to share some photos from PICA!
